And then there was Christmas day

Christmas was no better than Christmas Eve. In fact, it was worse. Way worse. The only 2 good things that came out of that day was that: 1) we all slept in 'til 9:30 a.m, and 2) Darren's parents arrived. But, when Darren woke up, he threw up. And, he threw up some more. He couldn't participate in our Christmas morning festivities. In fact, he slept the entire day until 5 pm. Carys was still feeling the effects of her stomach flu and didn't seem very interested in opening gifts. She was grumpy and not her typical, happy self. The whole day was a sad state of affairs. We didn't even open all of our presents and we didn't even get to our stockings until the 27th!! When Darren finally woke up, it was my turn. It was awful. We never want to be sick like that again- especially on Christmas. At least we made up for it on New Year's!

At least Paisley was happy.
The only one enjoying Christmas breakfast.

Surprise! Père Noël brough an assembled doll house!

--
Papa is sick. Really, really sick. He sits here for a few minutes while Carys and Paisley unwrap a few presents... Carys feels bad for him, so she gives him a crown.
---
"Wow! What's in here?"
"Perfect! A shopping cart!"

---
She still hasn't quite figured out who, exactly, the doll house is for.

--
Silly, happy baby.

---
Enjoying some quiet time. She was the only one unaffected by the sickness.

---
The pretty dinner table that had people missing from it. And the people who did sit down to dinner, lasted a whole 7 minutes.

---
Grand-maman and Grand-papa arrive bearing enough presents to supply a small village.

---
The damage.

--
Reading magazines with Grand-Papa
---
Still not feeling up to par, Carys hangs out with Grand-maman.
---
This was minutes before I started feeling those "stomach pains"... and minutes before that smile would be the last smile you would see on my face for a few more days.

My beauty.

We totally missed out this Christmas and we all look forward to the next because, surely, we couldn't possibly be affected by the stomach flu again.
