Will we miss 27 Mahogany St.?
You bet- but that kind of goes without saying. It is, afterall, the first house Darren and I bought together and in which we shortly moved into after marrying in 2005. This house also welcomed 2 new little girls into the world: one on a frigid, blustery and snowy Winter day and another on a beautiful, mild and calm Autumn day. This house has packed into it a lot of memories and laughter and tears and happiness and sadness and love and joy- but that's what a house is all about, right? We've had 5 great years in this house.

Sadly it was, also, in this house, that we lost our beloved Lucy after a horrible heart illness. We also burried her in the yard. I'm torn about leaving her and it is the one thing that brings me to tears when I think about moving. Actually, it brings me to more than just tears, it brings me into uncontrollable tears and sadness and guilt. I wish there could be a way to bring her along, but that's just not possible. This is her resting spot. This is where she ran and played and where she was loved unconditionally- oh man, was she ever loved. We think about that sweet, gentle soul so much and remember her with so much adoration and affection. She was our little goose and oh, how we miss her.

And aside from our sweet dog, this is also what we'll really miss. This beautiful view and all its green beauty. Our new yard doesn't even come close. It's smaller. Much smaller- but it is wider. The new house we bought had everything we wanted less the big back yard we would have liked, but that's ok. It was a compromise- a sacrifice of sorts.

Nothing like feeding your baby, outside, and admiring the view.

But the back yard is deceiving. There's actually a road between the fence and the forest. A very loud road. So that, we will not miss. But the view? We like to pretend that we're in the forest, especially on warm Summer nights and we sit by the fire or under the gazebo.

We'll miss this, too. Carys loving her back yard too. - But, she'll have fun in her new yard.
Leaving this house will be a good thing. We're leaving good memories behind but we're on our way to make new ones.
